MCLEISH - STILL PLENTY TO PLAY FOR
Alex McLeish has insisted that his Blues side still have plenty to play for this season despite their FA Cup exit at the hands of Portsmouth at the weekend.
And the Blues boss has warned his players not to "put their tools away" even though they have reached what is generally considered the 40 point safety target in the league.
"You've still got to show the pride and commitment," said McLeish ahead of tonight's league game at Fratton Park.
"We've spoken and I said 'get your chests out and your heads up because what you have achieved is fantastic'.
"I know that other teams have put their tools away when they've got to 40 (points) before.
"I've spoken to other managers who have been at clubs where that has happened and I'm determined not to let that happen here.
"I've got to rely on the players in the dressing room that they've got that drive and energy.
"They've inspired each other throughout the season and they've got to keep doing that and try to finish as high up the league as we can.
"At the moment we're neck and neck with a team like Everton which is amazing considering the difference in resources."
