Jack Butland made his debut for England U19s during their 2-0 win against Slovakia |
Blues youngsters Jack Butland and Jakub Hronec came face-to-face on the international stage last night as England U19s and Slovakia U19s played each other in a friendly fixture.
But it was Noel Blake's England side who emerged victorious with a 2-0 win at Crewe's Gresty Road.
The young Three Lions took the lead in the 16th minute through Liverpool's Michael Ngoo, before another Red, Jonjo Shelvey fired home the second goal on 72 minutes.
Seventeen-year-old Blues keeper Butland made his U19s debut, and played 45 minutes before being replaced at half time by Samuel Johnstone.
Meanwhile midfielder Hronec played just over an hour for Slovakia before he was replaced by team mate Kunca Dominik.
