Scott Dann today insisted Blues are reaping the rewards of the unbreakable team spirit, writes Andy Walker in the Birmingham Mail

Blues head into the international fixture break with real momentum having avoided defeat in their last three fixtures.

"We've got a great team spirit here," Dann told the Birmingham Mail.

"The lads all have a good bit of banter with each other but when it's time to work, and you need to get down to it on a match day, we're always up for it and together. I think that shows on the pitch and it's starting to bring results.

"The manager has been delighted with us. He knows he's getting the good performances off the team and we're doing everything he wants us to do. We've got to keep doing that.

"We'd like to play again on Saturday but we won't let the international break affect us, we've just got to keep the recent performances going and keep improving on them and start moving up the table."

The boyhood Liverpool fan is still reflecting on Monday's entertaining yet controversial encounter at Anfield.

Although disappointed with the manner in which Blues missed out on victory, Dann is looking at the bright side of the 2-2 draw.

"It (Monday night) was brilliant, it was a big thing for me as it's my home-town club and you'd go there and take a draw any time. We were a bit unfortunate with that (the penalty) but it was a good performance and decent result.

"We were disappointed because it was a bad decision from the referee but we will take a lot of positives out of it, we've not lost again and we're performing to a good standard week-in, week-out now. We've just got to keep that up.

"From a personal point of view I would have been delighted to get the win at Liverpool, having so many people watching, but we've got a good result.

"It was a big day for me. I enjoyed every minute of it and although we went a goal behind, we showed the determination to get back in the game. I thought we should have won."
