Miguel Marcos Madera or Michel as he is better known joined Blues in January 2010 in a £3m deal from La Liga side Sporting Gijon.
The technically gifted midfielder was a product of Gijon's youth system having originally been a junior with Real Oviedo.
In total he made 138 appearances and scored seven times for the La Liga outfit after breaking into their first team during the 2005/06 season.
In both of the last two campaigns at the club he was named as their player of the season and featured in the pre-season friendly between Blues and Gijon at St. Andrew's in August 2009.
Michel made his Blues debut as a substitute against Chelsea in January 2010.
