We are pleased to announce the eagerly awaited ten point pledge to our supporters for our New Year…New Start campaign.
This pledge is a real chance for the Board and supporters to enter 2009 with a fresh approach.
As Birmingham City FC Board of Directors we pledge to do the following:
1. Bring a Big Screen to St. Andrew's
Following supporter feedback we are pleased to confirm that a big screen will be installed at the stadium for next season, 2009/10. It will be a 50-metre square state-of-the-art screen with the Jeff Hall clock moved to its rightful place - incorporated within the new scoreboard design.
2. 10% off the price for 2008/09 for season 2009/10
We have reduced our season ticket prices for 09/10 by 10%. That's 10% off the price you paid this season (season 08/09) regardless of division, if purchased by 31 March 2009.
3. 0% payment plan for season 09/10
Due to the current financial climate we want to make it easier for our fans to come down to support the team, therefore we have introduced a 0% finance plan where payment will be spread across four payments - April 2009/July 2009/October 2009/January 2010. The season ticket must be purchased by 31 March 2009 to qualify for 0% finance plan regardless of division. This offer is subject to terms and conditions.
4. Refurbish and improve the tannoy system here at the ground
We are aware that the tannoy system at St. Andrew's is poor in many areas of the stadium. Supporters cannot hear the matchday activity clearly enough; therefore all areas will be refurbished ready for season 09/10
5. Families at St. Andrew's for season 09/10
We want to make families feel welcome here at the football club therefore we propose to do the following to make a day at St. Andrew's a great day out for the whole family;
• Designated family stand areas in the stadium
• Fun, interactive family stand with games, Beau Brummie and player appearances in these areas (injured/reserve players)
• Free entry for under 8's (with a full paying adult) - only available in our family stand*
*Only available with a full paying adult and with sufficient ID.
6. Have a season ticket holder package for season 09/10
As season ticket holders we believe that you should be treated as loyal supporters therefore, instead of a season ticket that only entitles you to a seat each game we have introduced a season ticket package which will include;
• 10% club shop discount throughout the season (excluding Umbro)
• Discounted tickets to all cup games here at St. Andrew's*
• Free entry to sport forums with players and management here at St. Andrew's**
• Free membership to the away travel club if purchased by 31st March 2009**
• No booking fees for cup tickets/extra tickets purchased by the season ticket holder
*subject to agreement from opposing team **subject to availability
7. Expand and broaden the 'Our City, Our Vision' community message
We will commit to work in conjunction with a charity every month to help support and promote their cause with our brand through our media channels and media connections.
8. Bring history back to St. Andrew's
For the 09/10 season we will be bringing our history and a sense of identity back to the club with past pictures, fans/club memories and memorabilia around the stadium for our supporters to enjoy.
9. Improve the club's PR strategy
We pledge to communicate to our fans via club media first. All official statements and interviews will be communicated through one spokesperson for each area via club media first before other media sources. For example, Alex will be the spokesperson for the team and the Board will have one spokesman via the official website or other club media.
10. And finally... Listen to our supporters
We value our fans feedback and this pledge would not be in place today if it was not for your valued feedback, therefore we propose to hold quarterly fans forums here at St. Andrew's (and out in the community) with key personnel at the club so we can answer any questions and take on board suggestions to make the best of our club.
As you can see we are committed to this football club and the future of this club. These pledges have been put in place to develop and better Birmingham City and we will continue to improve the club year on year for the future with kids and family initiatives to engage our fans of the future.
As Birmingham City Football Club's Board of Directors we are honoured and privileged to be here and promise to build this club for the future.
