Blues supporters are being asked to show that child protection is everyone's responsibility as part of the NSPCC's Save the Number campaign.
The children's charity is running the three-week long campaign with Barclays Premier League clubs across the country.
Players and supporters are being urged to save the NSPCC Helpline number - 0808 800 5000 - in their phones so they can call in confidence and get advice if they ever have any worries or concerns about any child or young person as not all children can speak out for themselves.
Blues winger Seb Larsson said: "After recently becoming a father, I am even more aware of how vulnerable children can be. I think the NSPCC Helpline is a fantastic service which is there for the most vulnerable children in the UK like babies who are unable to speak out for themselves.
"I am delighted to be backing the Save the Number campaign and hope that everyone saves the Helpline number, 0808 800 5000, in their phone in case they need to call to ask the NSPCC to assist a child."
John Cameron, Head of the NSPCC Helpline, said: "People can call our Helpline about any concerns they have about a child's safety or wellbeing. For example, we get some calls from parents who feel they can't cope or who just want a bit of advice about the best thing to do for their child. Other people may have seen something they feel a bit uneasy about, or suspect a child is being abused and just want to talk it through.
"Basically, you can think of a call to us as putting your worry about a child into the hands of experts. Our Helpline is staffed by child protection experts and just by having a chat we're quickly able to understand whether there might be something seriously wrong and give advice and help. When the more serious types of call come through, an NSPCC Helpline advisor will take some details. If, having spoken to you, they decide a child may be at risk, they will refer it on to children's services or to the police for them to take the appropriate next step or action."
Sports fans can also text in to win two tickets for A Question of Sport and go to one of the live tour shows. The winner and guest will get to test their sporting knowledge whilst the quiz is filmed and meet the stars of the show afterwards. By entering the competition people will be helping to raise funds to help the NSPCC Helpline continue to answer calls to protect children. For a chance to win, people can text NSPCC to 83138(Texts cost £1.50. At least 92p goes towards the NSPCC's work. Lines close 28/5/10).
