Blues have teamed up with Prime Minister David Cameron to urge other sporting and entertainment venues to throw their weight behind the Tickets For Troops campaign.
The football club are already supporters of Tickets For Troops and in the 2009/10 season alone gave away over 400 free tickets to Premier League matches at St. Andrew's to extremely deserving Armed Forces personnel as part of the Our City, Our Vision initiative.
And with this Saturday (26 June) being Armed Forces Day, the Prime Minister is encouraging others to follow suit, saying: "I believe as a country at war we should show the appreciation, with the military front and centre of our national life once again.
"It's that belief that drives Tickets For Troops, which takes tickets donated by top music and sporting venues and gives them to servicemen and women as a thank you for all they do.
"It's a great idea and I urge more event organisers and sports clubs to show their gratitude by getting involved.
"The truth is there is no hope of properly repaying our Armed Forces for the work they do, either through money or resources or gratitude.
"But we - as a country and as a Government - must always do our best to show our thanks and our pride in them: just as they have always done their best by us."
The Tickets For Troops scheme organises tickets for a multitude of sporting and entertainment events for soldiers who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
