Born in Burton-upon-Trent but raised in Birmingham, he joined Blues as an Academy Scholar from Solihull College in 2011.
A regular with the Development Squad, he won his first professional contract in 2012. He later signed a new one-year deal, with a further one year option, in May 2013.
The left-back spent the early part of the 2013/14 season on loan at Skrill Premier League side Nuneaton Town, where he impressed in his eight appearances prior to being recalled. After just a week back at St. Andrew's he was allowed to return to Nuneaton where he went on to make a further 15 appearances before being recalled in December 2013.
He made his Blues first team debut against Leicester City in January 2014 in a Sky Bet Championship fixture.
Bell joined league Two side Mansfield Town on loan in July 2014, but he was recalled the next month by Blues without having made an appearance for the Stags.
The youngster went out on loan again in September 2014 to League One side Swindon Town. He returned from the County ground in December 2014, having made 11 appearances for the Robins
