London-born midfielder Adams joined Blues as a scholar in the summer of 2011 after leaving the West Ham Academy.
He was given a squad number in January 2014 and later that same month made his First Team debut as a late substitute in Blues' 3-0 FA Cup third round victory over Bristol Rovers at St. Andrew's.
During a loan spell at Vanarama Conference side Lincoln City in the 2014/15 season Adams made an eye-catching impact for the Imps, scoring twice with long-range thunderbolts.
It was the second time that the midfielder had spent time on loan with the Imps, following a spell at Sincil Bank in the 2013/14 campaign.
The 2015/16 season saw Adams make further progress with his Blues career, as he made his first start for the First Team in the final game of the campaign away at Cardiff City.
In August 2016, Adams joined Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock on loan and went on to make nine appearances before returning to St. Andrew's in January 2017.
