Blues completed the signing of Wade Elliott from Burnley on August 31, 2011 on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The Southampton-born player had spent the previous six years at Turf Moor, having joined from his first professional club Bournemouth.
The former England schoolboy international earned legendary status with the Clarets fans for scoring the goal that fired the Lancashire side into the Barclays Premier League for the first time in their history during the 2010 play-off final against Sheffield United at Wembley. Despite Burnley's one season stay in the top flight, Elliott impressed during the 2009/10 campaign making 38 appearances and scoring four goals.
Having dominated Bournemouth's Player of the Season awards during his five-year stay at Dean Court, Elliott went on to make 280 appearances for Burnley, scoring 22 goals.
