His move to St. Andrew's followed on from a nine-month spell with Championship side Coventry City.
During his time with the Sky Blues, King quickly became a crowd favourite at the Ricoh Arena and hit 13 goals in 29 matches to finish the 2010/11 season as the club's top scorer and Player-of-the-Year.
The Londoner, who has earned more than 20 caps for Jamaica, has a wealth of experience. Having started his career at Barnet, King has gone on to represent a further eight clubs including Gillingham, Nottingham Forest, Leeds United (loan), Watford, Wigan Athletic, Hull City (loan) and Middlesbrough (loan).
Despite missing the start of the 2011/12 campaign because of a knee injury, King went on to have an extremely fruitful first season with Blues and scored 18 goals to finish as the club's top scorer.
The 2012/13 season followed a similar course for King as he once again finished as top scorer with 14 goals, but his season finished prematurely because of a knee problem.
