Blues completed the short-term signing of experienced defender Paul Robinson in September 2012.

This was later extended until the end of the 2012/13 season.

Robinson, who made 37 appearances during his first season with Blues, started the campaign playing at left-back before moving into the centre of defence.

A former England Under-21 international, he began his career at his hometown club Watford before moving to West Bromwich Albion in 2003 and spending six years at the Hawthorns.

A season-long loan move to Bolton Wanderers was made permanent in 2010. His spell at the Reebok Stadium was briefly interrupted by a month-long spell at Leeds United in 2011/12 season.

Robinson signed a one-year contract, plus a one-year option with Blues, in the summer of 2013.  Ahead of the 2013/14 campaign he was given the role of both club and team captain by boss Lee Clark.

His performances during the 2013/14 season saw Robinson rewarded with the Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season accolades at the end of season awards dinner.

The club activated a one-year option on his contract in May 2014 that will keep him at St. Andrew's until the summer of 2015.
