Westwood began playing football at Wolves in the youth team before progressing to their senior team in 2000.
During her time at Wolves, she was a part of the squad led by manager Dennis Mortimer who gained promotion to the FA WPL Northern Division, the squad became runners up of the league in the 2004/05 season.
Following Westwood's success at Wolves, she went on to sign a contract at Everton in 2005, where in her first season the club reached the FA Women’s Cup final.
During her time at Everton, she formed part of the team that became runners up in the FA Women’s Premier League National Division for five seasons running (2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009,10), as well as becoming winners of the FA Women’s Premier League Cup in 2008.
In 2010, Westwood signed for Birmingham City and became part of the squad that were runners up in the FA WSL for two consecutive year (2011/2012) and also win the FA Cup in 2012.
Whilst at Birmingham City, Westwood has been embarked on two club campaigns in the UEFA Champions League, although her debut in the champions league was at Everton against Gintra in 2007.
At international level she has represented England at all levels and has made more than 20 appearances for the full side.
She made her senior debut against Italy in 2005 and grabbed her first goal in a Euro 2009 qualifier.
