Boyhood Blues fan Charlie Lakin signed his first professional terms with the Club in May 2017, three days before his 18th birthday.
The Solihull-born teenager was first spotted by Blues playing for Walsall Under-9s and made the switch across the West Midlands to his spiritual home.
He was a regular for two years in the Under-18s before making the move up to the Under-23s squad midway through the 2016/17 season, chalking up 13 appearances and scoring two goals for Richard Beale’s side.
Lakin made his first team debut in February 2018 when he came off the substitutes' bench in extra-time during the FA Cup fourth round replay home defeat to Huddersfield Town.
In February 2018, the midfielder penned a new two-year deal which runs until June 2020.
