Blues Under-18s in Italy

Blues Under-18s have travelled to Italy as they continue preparations for the upcoming Professional Development League campaign.

On Sunday 31 July, led by Lead Coach, Martyn Olorenshaw, the Club's first and second-year scholars journeyed to Bergamo for a pre-season tour that is structured around training at fantastic facilities in Northern Italy.

In conjunction with the Erasmus Scheme and the League Football Education (LFE), the team will also play three friendlies against Under-19s opposition during their 12 days away from the Second City.

This will see Birmingham City go toe to toe with SKN Polten from Austria and Italian outfits, Sampdoria and Atalanta, with the latter taking place at their respective grounds.

Additionally, the players will enjoy multiple cultural visits, including spending a day in Milan and taking a trip to Maggiore Lake. They will also undertake Italian language lessons as part of the trip’s social programme that optimises integration with the hosts and the sharing of skills and knowledge in a different environment.

Enjoy Italy, lads!
