Boss pleased by David Davis' impact

He has settled back down to some better performances and was excellent against Brentford and Leeds.

Davis has found his chances in the middle of the pitch limited this season because of the excellent form of Stephen Gleeson and Maikel Kieftenbeld.

Although Davis has four substitute appearances to his name in the Sky Bet Championship this season, his first starts came in the away fixtures against Brentford and Leeds United just before the international break.

Blues won both of those games 2-0, with former Wolves man Davis impressing.

"Davo has been unfortunate not to be in the team," said Rowett.

"I have said it before but we have got three very good central midfielders and I could play any two of those three on any given day and get a very similar level.

"He had a little spell which I spoke to him about when he came on as sub he looked a little bit edgy, nervous and trying too hard because he had been out of the side.

"That's the type of lad he is, he is so enthusiastic I don't think that helped him.

"But I think he has settled back down to some better performances and was excellent against Brentford and Leeds."
