Blues extend David Davis' contract

It means Davis will be tied to Blues for a further 12-month period, until the summer of 2017.

Smethwick-born Davis joined Blues from Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2014 for a six-figure fee.

His current deal was due to expire this June, had Blues not taken up the option.

Davis was informed of Blues' decision last week, prior to Sunday's game at his former club Wolves.

And he turned in an all action man-of-the-match performance at Molineux during Blues' 0-0 draw.

Aged 25, the combative midfielder has made a total of 73 appearances so far for Blues, including 29 this season.
