Jones heads to New Zealand

The striker will be with the New Zealand-based side until 3 May.

Wellington play in the Australian A-League and are third from bottom in the 10-team division.

Jones, a regular scorer and impressive performer for Blues Under-21s, was loaned to Grimsby Town. He made six appearances before Blues recalled him at the end of his initial month in December.

Manager Gary Rowett is keen that Jones gains more competitive experience.

Wellington lost at home to Central Coast Mariners, 3-1, on Saturday.

Jones is set to make his debut next Sunday against ex-Blues team mate Shane Lowry, who joined opponents Perth Glory last week.

Jones joined Blues on a Bosman free transfer in the summer, penning a two-year deal with a 12-month option.
