Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall have joined Blues on season-long loans.

The defensive pair bolster the options for manager Harry Redknapp and are eligible for cup competitions.

Jenkinson, 25, is an athletic right-back who can also play in central defence.

Bramall, 21, is a left-back who has pace in abundance and has broken into the Gunners First Team squad.

Jenkinson will wear number squad number 22 and Bramall number 15.

Both have been registered in time to figure in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup Second Round tie at home to Bournemouth.

Harlow-born Jenkinson came through the youth ranks at Charlton Athletic before a move to Arsenal in 2011.

He helped Arsenal to the 2014 FA Cup triumph before spending two successful seasons on loan at West Ham United, making 59 appearances for the Hammers.

In January 2016 Jenkinson suffered a serious knee injury and was sidelined for eight months.

He returned to start in two Premier League and Champions League games.

Jenkinson won a full England cap in 2012, against Sweden, and was a regular for the Under-21s. He also represented Finland at youth level, qualifying through his Finnish mother.

Crewe-born Bramall was signed by Arsene Wenger after a two-day trial last December.

He was playing for Hednesford Town and had just been made redundant from his job at Bentley motors.

He impressed for Sheffield Wednesday Under-23s against Blues Under-23s at Wast Hills but before the Owls or Shrewsbury Town, who were also interested, could take things further, Arsenal jumped the queue.

Bramall was pitched in to train with Arsenal’s First Team and Wenger was immediately smitten.

Strong showings for Arsenal’s development side saw him rewarded with a spot in the squad for July’s pre-season tour of Australia and China as he became a fully-fledged member of the senior group.

Bramall was a sprinter of note in his youth and ran for Crewe and Nantwich AC.

Bramall, who can also play wide left, bounced around various non-league clubs Kidsgrove Athletic, Alsager Town, Nantwich Town, Markey Drayton and Newcastle Town before joining the Pitmen.
