Blues to host Crawley Town in Carabao Cup

The Carabao Cup

The tie will be played at St. Andrew's on Tuesday 8 August, 7:45pm.

Blues have been handed a home tie against League Two side Crawley Town in the first round of the 2017-18 Carabao Cup.

The tie will be played at St. Andrew's in the week commencing 7 August 2017.

It will be the first competitive meeting between the clubs.

Crawley, who finished 19th in League Two last season, appointed former Leeds and Liverpool man Harry Kewell last month.

The draw took place live in Bangkok, Thailand (the home of the competition’s title sponsor, Carabao Energy Drink) this afternoon with World Cup winner Emmanuel Petit, Carabao CEO Sathien Setthasit, British Ambassador to Thailand Brian Davidson.

The draw was regionalised to minimise travelling time for supporters in the first round with seeding decided by a Club’s finishing position in the EFL.
