Reaction: Blues 5 Crawley Town 1

Blues boss Harry Redknapp gives his thoughts on the Carabao Cup win over Crawley Town.

Harry Redknapp on the performance of his team . . .

“The boys showed a good attitude, so that’s all you can ask. Every one of them that’s come in and played who hadn’t been playing went out and had a go. I was pleased with them. They got sloppy at the end, the last 15 - 20 minutes, but other than that it was good, a good night's work."

Harry Redknapp on what he learned from the first round tie . . .

“We’ve all been in these games where it’s gone wrong. You’re looking for players to show a good attitude and they didn’t do themselves any harm. They’ve all done OK, it’s encouraging. David Cotterill, Stephen Gleeson, Robbo came in and played at the back, the 'keeper came in . . . all of them. Their attitudes were first class, couldn't fault any of them. We got on top early, missed a few chances. Once we got a goal and got ahead, it was good position to be in. We could change a few players. You do need a squad and at the moment we are short. It’s a small squad and we need to thicken it up and get some bodies in as quick as we can, but it’s not easy, especially when you’re looking for good players.”

Harry Redknapp on hat-trick hero Che Adams . . .

“He was good tonight. He’s got to keep that going over the season, but he’s improving and learning the game. He’s still got a long way to go but he’s got potential to be a good player. His hold up play has still got to be improved. He will get better though. He's strong, he's quick, I like him - he's got a good chance. We played David Davis in behind, and he did well too."

Harry Redknapp on a reported interest in Che Adams from another club . . .

“I haven’t heard that, not that I know of. How much? £3 million? Good luck with that. I don't know what he's worth but he's certainly worth a lot more than £3 million. He’s not for sale and we don’t want to sell him. I’ve only got three senior strikers on my books, so I’m not interested in selling him, no."

Harry Redknapp talks about Adam Legzdins' sale . . .

"He's a great lad, I've got a lot of time for him. He was offered a three-year contract at Burnley, to go in there as back up 'keeper or whatever. I couldn't stand in his way.
"It's a great move for him. He was in his last year here and now he's in at a Premier League club.
"We got a small fee. You couldn't meet a nicer lad, I wish him well."
