Marc Skinner on the disappointment of missing out on FA Cup glory...
We can take immense pride from reaching Wembley.
“Clearly, we were slow out of the blocks and the damage was done in the first half. Man City were excellent and made very good use of the width of the pitch.
"We were second to too many second balls and allowed too many crosses to come into our box. Some of the goals we conceded today were unlike us and that is a disappointment of course.”
Marc Skinner’s views on his side’s vastly improved second half performance...
“That was a lot more like what we are about. We kept at the task and showed the pride and talent we have as a group of players and management.
"It was a superb goal from Charlie (Wellings) and it’s a moment she will treasure for the rest of her life.
"Next time, of course, I only hope that she and the rest of the girls are here celebrating goals that win us a cup final.”
Marc Skinner on the impact reaching the final has had on his side...
“We can take immense pride from reaching Wembley. We are disappointed we let them (Man City) get so far ahead of us, but we can take positives and confidence from the second half display and from the experience our players, many of them still so young, will take away with them.”
Marc Skinner on what needs to happen for Blues to take the next step and win silverware...
“Finances are out of my hands. The Man Citys of this world are what they are and have resources which allow them to do things, in respect of buying players, that we can’t do. However, nobody can buy hard work, team spirit, organisation and desire and we pride ourselves on how hard we work on all of these things.
"We also have some extremely talented young players who will only get better and I and the rest of the team will work as hard as we possibly can to make sure this sort of occasion is just the start for this Club.”
