This year marks the year of the dog and to celebrate the occasion we will be hosting a wide range of exciting activities that includes a red pocket giveaway to supporters!
At our home fixture against Millwall on Saturday 17 February, we will distribute red ticket pockets containing lottery tickets that could win the grand prize of a pair of 2018/19 Season Tickets.
All tickets will include one instant prize ranging from free beer or soft drink, £1 off Foster’s beer, a free hotdog or free pie or signed shirts and signed balls that can be collected from the Blues Store.
At half-time supporters could win further prizes such as 2018/19 Season Tickets, Hospitality for two and a Mascot package.
In China, the red pockets or envelopes contain money and is the most popular Chinese New Year tradition. Red is regarded as the symbol of happiness and good luck and sending these is seen as a gesture of good wishes. By giving the money to children, elders are hoping to pass on a year of good fortune and blessings.
To receive your prize, supporters will be handed the red pockets on entry to the stadium at the turnstiles.
The popular Cookhouse will offer a Chinese themed menu, whilst inside the stadium there will also be pre-match and half-time activities that will feature a big screen video draw, a lion dance and traditional singers and dancers. In addition to the wallets, supporters will be able to immerse themselves in the Chinese culture around St. Andrew’s.
The Club’s social media channels, website and Blues News programme will also celebrate this fantastic occasion.
