Blues tie up Jacques Maghoma on new deal

Blues have secured the services of Jacques Maghoma on a new two-and-half year contract, which runs until 30 June 2020.

Maghoma, 30, been one of Blues' most consistent performers this season and has scored four goals from his 32 appearances.

The DR Congo international joined Blues on a free in the summer of 2015 after leaving fellow Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.

Since making the switch to St. Andrew's, the former Tottenham Hotspur trainee has racked up a total of 101 appearances and scored 13 goals.

Maghoma is currently playing some of the best football of his Blues career to date.

His form out wide in the attacking front three Steve Cotterill has been utilising has been pivotal in Blues resurgence after a difficult start to the campaign.

Speaking in a recent addition of the Club's matchday programme Blues News, Maghoma said: "One hundred per cent I want to stay here and keep playing for the Blues.

"It's a fantastic club and I want to see this club do well.

"Hopefully we can do better from now until the end of then season and then kick on next season.

"I still think we've got the players and the hunger and desire within ourselves to go higher.

"You can sense that in and around the dressing room.

"I want to be part of that."

Maghoma joins Maikel Kieftenbeld and Jonathan Grounds, both of whom were also due to be out of contract in the summer, in agreeing fresh terms.
