He has loved it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so happy. When he met the players he was all smiles, it’s been a really good day.Liam, Mason's step-Dad
The 7-year-old from Wythall, Birmingham, was invited to the Trillion Trophy Training Centre by Garry Monk when Mason missed the fans open training session last month.
“Mason’s mum went into hospital unexpectedly when we were planning to come to the open training day,” explained Liam, Mason’s step dad.
“So I thought instead of Mason missing out, I will try and send a tweet to Garry Monk to see if he can do anything.”
Indeed, the Blues boss saw the tweet and Mason’s wish was granted when he spent the morning watching training and meeting the first team squad. Jota, who is Mason’s favourite player, was on hand to present a shirt.
“He has loved it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so happy. When he met the players he was all smiles, it’s been a really good day.”
The day didn’t end there, Mason had lunch with the players and even sat in the manager’s chair in his office!
“He seemed to love sitting in the chair and Mason hates sitting down!”
