Midfielder David Davis has agreed a new contract with the Club.

Davis has signed a one-year extension to his present deal, keeping him at St. Andrew’s until the summer of 2021 at least.

Davis, 27, has again been an important performer for Blues in a tough year.

He made 41 league and cup appearances in 2017-18 and scored three times.

Once more he proved his versatility, not only his combative athleticism and leadership out on the field of play.

He has been used in deep, advanced and wide midfield roles, all to very good effect.

Davis received Players’ Player of the Season and Supporters’ Player of the Season accolades the previous campaign.

He is the second longest-serving player after signing from Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2014.

To date, he has figured in a total of 167 Blues games and scored 11 times.

The extension to his contract was initially arranged around the turn of the year when Blues also secured the futures of Jonathan Grounds and then Maikel Kieftenbeld and Jacques Maghoma.
