Ronan Hale has joined Derry City on a Standard Loan.

Teenage Blues striker Ronan Hale has joined League of Ireland Premier Division side Derry City on an International Loan.

It is the first time that the 19-year-old has been out on loan since becoming a Blues player.

Hale, who was born in Belfast, is a Republic of Ireland Under-19 international.

The goalscorer joined Blues in the summer of 2015 and impressed so much during his early Blues career that he was rewarded with a three-year professional contract which runs until 2019.

Hale has made 10 appearances and scored three times for Blues Under-23s this season in league and cup, but has not been a regular starter.

Derry City, who play at the 7,700 capacity Brandywell Stadium, are managed by Kenny Shiels.

The 2018 League of Ireland season commences on February 16, 2018.

Hales' loan runs until 30 June 2018 and because it is a window to window international loan, a recall is not permitted.
