Garry Monk has provided the latest news on injured pair David Davis and Isaac Vassell.

Davis, who fractured his ankle in pre-season, could be well on the road to recovery in four months.

Vassell suffered a hip issue in training a week ago. He will be seeing a top specialist tomorrow.

On Davis, the Manager revealed: "He's doing really well. He's got a second operation coming up at the start of next month.

"It's to remove some screws. When you first have an injury like that, there are screws placed in there to make sure it's set, there's no trauma.

"He has progressed really well, he's got flexibility. The second operation is really standard.

"The specialists are really happy with him.

"Time frame, you don't know. Some say it could be four months, some say it could be six months, some say it's nine months . . . but the way he is recovering and the way he is doing it, we'd like to think it's at the the lower end.

"You know what David is like, professional-wise, the mentality he has. He's hungry to do all the work. He's in the best hands as well so we're hoping it's at the lower end of that scare, and we're pretty confident it will be."

Vassell was nearing a full return after his knee surgery 10 months ago.

"He is going to see a specialist on Friday. We have been waiting for the specialist, he's been out of the country.

"He deals in that type of injury, in that area.

"Hopefully we will then know more of a time frame after that.

"We would have liked to have got him seen earlier but we've waited as he's one of top ones in his field, in dealing with that and the quickness of it."
