The 15-year-old from Alvechurch has severe idiopathic scoliosis – an abnormal curvature of the spine – and is waiting to have innovative surgery so she can pursue her dream of playing football and living life pain free.
Ahead of the operation, Amelia was invited to the Trillion Trophy Training Centre by her favourite players Lucy Staniforth and Jacques Maghoma.
A morning of watching the women’s team train and meeting the squad was met with a seal of approval by Amelia, who was presented with a signed shirt by Lucy.
The day didn’t end there. Next up was a meet and greet with Jacques and Jude Bellingham.
“What a fantastic day it has been for Amelia,” said Lisa, Amelia’s mum.
“Amelia is a big Blues fan, so this is a dream come true. As a family we are trying to raise as much awareness as possible as Amelia’s operation is not available on the NHS.
“She deserves the opportunity to live a full, pain free life and of course to continue playing football.”
