The midfielder has been named in Shelley Kerr’s side in their first ever Women’s World Cup.
Arthur couldn’t hide her delight when we spoke with her after the announcement was made:
She said: “It’s an absolute honour, something you never dream of happening. It is such a proud moment for me and my family!
“I’ve worked really hard so finding out that I’m going to a World Cup still feels so surreal. It’s been an emotional couple of days with the suspense and then happiness and relief. I’m so excited to get out there to represent Scotland and be part of an amazing squad, making history for our nation!”
Arthur was a part of the squad that embarked on their first major tournament two years ago in Holland at the 2017 European Championships.
They suffered defeat to England then, and will face a repeat of that as Scotland begin their campaign in Group D against the Lionesses in Nice on 9th June, before facing Japan and Argentina.
Arthur has 19 appearances for the senior side and has been capped over 30 times at Under-19’s and 17’s levels.
Tickets for England v Scotland on Sunday 9 June featuring Blues' teammates, Chloe Arthur, Lucy Staniforth and Ellen White are onsale here.
