The Club can confirm the football management team in place for the start of the new campaign.

Pep Clotet will be Blues caretaker Head Coach, with the Club not actively seeking an alternative permanent Head Coach or Manager at this time.

Clotet steps up from Assistant Manager.

James Beattie (First Team Coach), Darryl Flahavan (Goalkeeper Coach), Sean Rush (Head of Physical Performance) and Ryan Needs (Head of Analysis) also remain at Blues.

And experienced midfielder Craig Gardner joins the staff in a Player-Coach capacity.

The roles were formally agreed and ratified today after a meeting with CEO Xuandong Ren and Club Director Edward Zheng at the Trillion Trophy Training Centre, Wast Hills.

The Club's strategy and aims moving forwards was outlined to the group and everyone is looking ahead to the task in hand.

"We had a very positive talk with the guys and we are focused on what we want to try and achieve," said Ren.

"Their professionalism shone through during our meeting and we know they are a very talented and hard-working group.

"Pep will be our caretaker Head Coach and we are not seeking anyone else, at present.

"With the support we will continue to provide them, and their expertise in coaching and preparation of the players, we are confident that we can make significant progress towards what we all want to achieve - success for Birmingham City."

Blues report back for testing tomorrow ahead of the 2019/20 Championship season, which begins with a trip to Brentford on 3 August.
