Midfielder Josh McEachran has signed a two-year contract following a successful trial with the Club.

McEachran, a free agent, has been training with Blues since earlier in the month and has figured in three Under-23s matches.

McEachran came through the ranks at Chelsea after joining them as a seven-year-old.

He spent 15 years at Chelsea, which included several extended spells out on loan, before being sold to Brentford in July 2015 having played 22 times for the Stamford Bridge outfit.

During his four years with the Bees he racked up 102 senior appearances and scored one goal, which ironically came in a 1-1 draw against Blues in October 2018.

McEachran, who parted ways with Brentford in the summer, made his Under-23s debut at Bristol City on 9 September and got 68 minutes football under his belt.

He continued to impress against Coventry City Under-23s and Sheffield United Under-23s, last Monday, when he completed 90 minutes.

All the while McEachran, 26, has been training with Pep Clotet's first team group.

A composed player happy to receive the ball in tight areas, McEachran's vision, positioning and clever passing was apparent in the Under-23s matches when he was influential in helping to dictate proceedings.

McEachran will take squad number 16 for Blues.
