Blues hope to have Jacques Maghoma back in full training next week.

But Jefferson Montero faces an extended spell on the sidelines.

Maghoma has been niggled by a calf injury, sustained on the opening day of the season in the win at Brentford.

The winger has been out on the fields of the Trillion Trophy Training Centre, Wast Hills, and joined in with the main group, but endured a slight setback.

So his workload will again be monitored closely with a view to stepping things up next week.

Montero was forced off after 29 minutes of his starting debut for Blues against Stoke City.

He came off worse in a collision and suffered damage to his thigh.

Scans have revealed an issue with the muscle and the winger won't be returning to action for several weeks.

Montero joined Blues on a season loan from Swansea City on transfer deadline day.
