Defender Josh Dacres-Cogley has penned a new contract with Blues and has been immediately been loaned out to League Two side Crawley Town for the 2019/20 campaign.

The 23-year-old's existing deal with Blues was due to expire at the end of this season, but the new contract extension will run until 30 June 2021.

A product of Blues' Academy, Dacres-Cogley made his first team bow for the Club in the EFL Cup against Oxford United in August 2016.

To date he has made 25 first team appearances, the last of which came on Tuesday evening in the Carabao Cup defeat at Portsmouth.

Crawley, who are managed by former Blues coach Gabriele Cioffi, lost their opening game of the season away at Carlisle last weekend 2-1.

Dacres-Cogley will link up with another Blues loan player at the West Sussex-based club. Young German goalkeeper Michael Luyambula joined the Red Devils on a season-long loan last month.
