REACTION: Ipswich Town 1 Blues 1

We had great chances to win the game, but we didn't take them which was a real shame, had we taken those opportunities, especially in the first-half, we would have won the game.

Garry Monk speaks to the press after today's 1-1 draw at Portman Road...

Garry Monk on the result and performance...

"Yeah, I said it before the match, it would be a tough game, they were fighting - commiserations to Ipswich - it is a tough day for their football club - you can see from their second-half performance that they came out fighting and made it hard for us. We had the chances to win the game, we weren't clinical enough, we had five or six good chances but weren't able to take them. We are disappointed with the result, we had chances, good chances in that first-half, we didn't reach the same levels in the second-half so that was disappointing from our point of view. We were fighting to get the three points, but it is another point on the board, we will keep going."

Garry Monk on not taking maximum points...

"We had great chances to win the game, but we didn't take them which was a real shame, had we taken those opportunities, especially in the first-half, we would have won the game. Being 1-0 up against a side that is battling hard for survival is always going to be tough and they came out fighting in the second-half, we knew they would, it's a real shame we didn't win the game but it is another point gained."

Garry Monk on making changes and finishing the season well...

"I wanted to freshen it up, at the end of a three-game week, there were a few lads with a little fatigue, and it was good to get some fresh legs in there. We want to finish the season strongly and we want to get as many wins before now and May as we can. We are disappointed to not get the win today, but we will look ahead now to next week and getting points out of those games. The players want to finish the season strongly, we all do, that is our aim."
