Stadium Sleepout Raises Over £20,000!

Over 80 brave people slept out

It was a heart-warming night at the Geoff Horsfield Foundation Stadium Sleepout on Friday.

Over 80 brave people slept out under the stars in the Kop to raise money for the Club’s official charity partner, with donations to date exceeding £20,000!

Cardboard boxes, sleeping bags and thermal clothing were in abundance as the many participants prepared for their long night in the cold at St. Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium.

The evening began with two special guests…Garry Monk and James Beattie. Garry and James were on hand to show their support to Geoff and the Foundation. The Blues duo chatted to the many Blues fans attending the unique fundraising event.

“Since Geoff’s Foundation has come on board, and the Club has entered into the partnership, it’s all been about creating awareness,” said Garry.

“It’s accelerated from the start of the season to where it is now. I’ve spoken to Geoff many times. It’s growing and growing and nights like this just help the awareness of it.

“It’s fantastic, the people staying here for the night are perhaps going to get an inkling into what a lot of the homeless in Birmingham go through, and not in the conditions they face on a daily basis.

“It’s all about awareness of the Foundation, thanks to the work of the Club, and it’s only our pleasure to come down.”

Well done to all participants, and of course Geoff, Garry and James!
