Blues can confirm that Viv Solomon-Otabor has left the Club after turning down a new contract.

The 23-year-old winger was offered fresh terms before his existing deal was due to finish at the end of June, but he has today elected to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

Solomon-Otabor came back for pre-season training for a couple of days as negotiations continued but now a line has been drawn under his time at Blues.

The Londoner had been with Blues since the age of 15 after joining the joining the Academy following a successful trial.

After progressing through the age groups, the winger signed his first professional contract in June 2014.

He made his First Team debut in a League Cup second round tie at home to Gillingham on 25 August 2015 after coming on as a late substitute and his performances during that debut campaign saw him collect the Club's Young Player of the Season award for 2015/16.

In January 2017 he joined League One Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season and was then on the move again that summer when he made a season-long loan switch to League One Blackpool.

In January 2019 Solomon-Otabor joined League One club Portsmouth on loan until the end of the 2018/19 campaign, where he made 10 appearances for Kenny Jackett’s League One side, scoring one goal.

The Club wishes Viv every success in his future footballing career and thanks him for his efforts during his time at Blues.
