Positive news on the injury front for Blues Women

Sarah Mayling is fit and ready to return to action for Blues Women.

And Brianna Visalli is also nearing a comeback.

Mayling will be in the squad for Sunday's trip to Barclays FA WSL leaders Arsenal Women.

It represents a welcome boost for Marta Tejedor when the action resumes after the festive break.

"Sarah is training normally with the team now," said the Manager.

"We need to build her condition, so she won't be able to start and play 90 minutes. But she is available again. That is very good news."

Mayling last appeared for Blues at the beginning of November before suffering from a knee injury.

Visalli was ruled out at the end of November after requiring surgery for a medical condition.

"Bri is a little bit closer to come back," said Tejedor.

"I think she will be one more week of having modified training. Individual work with the medical and physical fitness staff.

"Then she will join us in a week to 10 days. She will go into full training and then we will build her minutes when she plays."

Captain Kerys Harrop remains sidelined, but she is too nearing full fitness after a muscle issue.

"Kerys is the one who we think will take a little bit longer," Tejedor reported.

"We are expecting her to come back in three to four weeks or so.

"Thursday was the first day she started doing something with the ball, so that is a good sign as well."
