Blues' Spanish striker Alvaro Gimenez has returned to his home country to join Cadiz on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move.

Cadiz are pushing hard for promotion to the top-flight and currently top the Segunda Division with 25 games of the campaign played.

Gimenez is no stranger to the Spanish second tier having joined Blues from Almeria in August 2019 on a three-year deal.

Since the switch to St. Andrew's Gimenez has made 25 appearances, with 13 of them being starts.

He has found the back of the net three times in total, with the last of those coming in the 3-2 away win at Reading in December.

The move comes during the same week that fellow Spaniard Fran Villalba joined Gimenez's former club Almeria on loan.
