Boss - Peds call-up was a real positive

He was over the moon when they called him when we were on the coach coming back from Stoke.

Aitor Karanka

Aitor Karanka believes that Kristian Pedersen's first senior appearance for Denmark will benefit both the player and Blues moving forwards.

The Blues full-back made his debut for his home country as a second-half substitute in their 4-0 friendly victory over the Faroe Islands during the international break.

And Blues Head Coach Karanka insists it was a well-deserved accolade for the 26-year-old who had only previously represented Denmark at Under-21 level.

"I'm really pleased for Kristian because he's been doing really well for us since last year," said Karanka.

"He's a good kid and he deserves it.

"He was over the moon when they called him when we were on the coach coming back from Stoke.

"I think it has been an amazing experience for him, and experiences like that improve the player and make them more mature.

"As a coach the only way you improve your team is when you are improving your players, so it is good for him and also for the team."
