Report: Blues Under-18s 4 Charlton Athletic Under-18s 1

A convincing win for #BCFCu18s.

Blues made it four wins in four games in the PDL with another excellent display.

Goals were shared around with Callum Sullivan, Josh Williams (pictured), Amari Miller and Rico Patterson on the scoresheet.

Blues sealed the deal in the last 20 minutes to move into second place in the North table, three points behind Wigan Athletic who have won all five games so far.

Blues went ahead in the eighth minute, through Sullivan.

He chased onto a ball down the left and swapped passes with Patterson before finishing low past the 'keeper from just inside the area on the sidefoot.

After conceding an equaliser, it took Blues until the 70th minute to regain the advantage.

The goal came from a left wing corner; Blues kept the ball alive amid a goalmouth scramble and Rico Browne nudged it to Williams who blasted into the roof of the net with his left foot from close range.

Eight minutes later Blues put some daylight between themselves and the Addicks.

There was a touch of good fortune when Miller's free-kick attempt went through and deflected off the wall and spun past the 'keeper, leaving him flat-footed.

Blues put the seal on the victory in the 85th minute following a swift break along the right hand side. Marcel Oakley slipped a pass down the channel for Kieran Wakefield to turn square into the path of Patterson, who duly found the top left corner with a first time effort.

Blues: Mayo, Oakley, Djurovic (Nguepissi 87), Chang, Kade, Browne, Williams (Fogarty 87), Hall, Miller, Patterson, Sullivan (Wakefield 65). Not used: Brooks, Bellingham.
