Club Update

Firstly, the Club would like to take this opportunity to thank our supporters after what has been a very difficult year for everyone.

The absence of football fans across the country has had a huge impact on the game but it has been felt no more strongly than here at Blues.

We are a Club that thrives and depends on the atmosphere generated both at St. Andrew’s and from our travelling support. Irrespective of the result, matchdays have not been the same without you.

We are hopeful that the existing restrictions will be lifted in time for the start of the 2021/22 season and we can welcome you back to St. Andrew’s to support both our Men’s and Women’s teams.

Many of our players are yet to experience the emotion of playing in front of you and the first fixture back is something we are all looking forward to.

The Club will continue to liaise with the EFL and our local authority to provide further updates on a safe return to football.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our commercial partners for their continued support across what has been a testing period for businesses of all sizes.

Our principal partner, BoyleSports, have recently extended their sponsorship with us for a further two years and we look forward to building on our strong working relationship.

Stadium Repairs

We thank our supporters for their patience on the issue of stadium repairs.

Since our update at the end of last year, the Club appointed the Buckingham Group to work alongside our structural engineer to decipher the best possible option for remedial works to the two affected stands.

This process has been extensive and thorough, with safety the paramount factor in every decision.

It is, of course, our fans who will be most affected by the remedial works and ahead of spectators returning to the stadium, the Club will be providing an update on this early next week.

Season Tickets

In anticipation of a safe return to St. Andrew’s, the Club will be launching our 2021/22 season ticket campaign.

This year we have all felt the void left by our supporters, which is why we are putting you, the fans, at the heart of our content.

Our supporters are honest, hardworking, and loyal. They come from a wide range of background and beliefs, ages and abilities, all united by a common devotion to the Football Club.

We would love for you to re-join us next season as we embark on another Sky Bet Championship and Barclays FA Women’s Super League campaign – this time with you alongside us.

Like many Clubs we are planning to go on sale with season tickets as normal in the hope that all social distancing restrictions will be lifted by the start of the season. However, we will also have contingency plans in place should the Government’s roadmap change.

Further information, including the pricing structure, will be made available in due course.

Academy Status

The Club announced back in September 2020 that we had applied for Category 1 status under the Elite Player Performance Plan.

We are now entering the final stages of this process.

The second round of auditing has been completed and the Professional Game Academy Audit Company (PGAAC) are now submitting our proposal.

As part of the process we have invested in our infrastructure and staffing levels. We are now awaiting the outcome of our proposal.

We will update supporters again once the Club has received official feedback.

New Kit Launch

The Club is also in the process of drawing up plans to reveal our new home and away kits for the 2021/22 season.

We have listened to the feedback we received following last season’s strip and having made some changes, are confident that the new kit will be popular amongst our supporters.

Sadly, we cannot give too much away but we hope it will be worth the wait, with the home kit set to be launched in June!

Again, we would like to reiterate our thanks for your patience during this period and look forward to welcoming you home in the coming months.

Keep Right On!
