George Hall signs Blues pro deal!

Signing my first professional contract feels like the next step.

George Hall

Blues are thrilled to announce that George Hall has signed a professional contract with the Football Club.

The talented attacking midfielder has agreed terms with Blues as he continues his impressive development in the Second City, having initially joined the Club at the age of seven and caught the eye whilst rising through the Academy ranks.

Now aged 17, Hall has already made eight appearances between the Club’s Under-23s and Under-18s teams this season, scoring once for each side across over 500 minutes of action to date.

Such an impression saw him called up by England Under-18s in October, impressing as he featured away to the Netherlands, before further appearances this month during victories over Belgium and Portugal for Ryan Garry's side in the Pinatar Tournament.

Speaking to BluesTV, Hall explained what it means to have put pen to paper with Blues.

“It is amazing, obviously. I have been at the Club for so long. It’s a real proud moment for me and my family, and I’m just delighted that I could sign my contract here.

“Signing my first professional contract feels like the next step and, hopefully, I can push on and start playing more regularly in the Under-23s and push on to break into the First Team.

“I’m a box-to-box midfielder and I like to get up and down the pitch. I like to get forward and score and create goals. But I also like to get back, win the ball back for my team and make some tackles.”

This news is further evidence of the Club’s renowned pathway between Academy and First Team football, supported by the role of Academy Director, Paul Williams, First Team Development Coach, Paul Harsley, Under-23s Head Coach, Steve Spooner and Under-18s Lead Coach, Martyn Olorenshaw.

And Olorenshaw provided a glowing assessment of Hall to BCFC.com.

“It is really positive, he has been in the programme since pre-academy, to get a boy all the way through is a massive pat on the back for everybody involved either now or previously in George’s journey.

“He is an attacking midfielder with an ability to create and score goals. He is explosive, dynamic and has the prowess to influence games. He is a really exciting player that has the ceiling to achieve whatever he wants to achieve.

“He has received international recognition recently which is a huge achievement, a testament to all his hard work and a reflection of his character.”

Congratulations, George!
