Today it is difficult to understand.Aitor Karanka
The game at St. Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium was decided by a solitary goal scored by Dan Potts in the first-half.
And speaking to the media post-match, Karanka was understandably disappointed with the outcome in B9.
He told the press: “It is difficult to understand in our situation. I could maybe understand this one or two months ago. I will have to go home and analyse the game.
"We needed three points and Luton were six points above us and showed they wanted to win more than us. I will have to analyse and keep calm.
“I realise our situation. After Coventry, Wycombe and Bournemouth we should have had at least five more points but after today it is difficult to understand. I knew how important those points were.
“I trust what I am doing. I am trying to do my best and in the last three of four games, we showed we are a very good team but today we were the team we were a month ago.
“We are trying to better at home knowing how important the points were. I am concerned about why we didn’t approach the game and play like we did in the last week.
“After 6 months if we had not played a good game or were not a good team, but how we have played in the past weeks and in the games we have won it means the team when they want [can] play really good football."
