Report: Blues 7-0 Salford City XI

Blues continued their pre-season schedule with a comprehensive win over a Salford City XI on Saturday morning.

The victory at Wast Hills Training Ground saw a number of First Team and Development squad players gain further minutes ahead of the 2021/22 season, with the start of the Sky Bet Championship just a fortnight away.

Ryan Stirk got Blues off to the ideal start when he scored after just 60 seconds against the Ammies and Josh Williams made it two inside ten minutes before Charlie Lakin added a third on the stroke of half-time.

Scott Hogan and summer signing Chuks Aneke both struck within five minutes of the interval to cement the home team's dominance.

Hogan then completed a brace midway through the second-half and a magnificent seven was chalked up when Adan George rounded off the scoring in the closing stages after entering from the bench.

Head Coach, Lee Bowyer, and his backroom staff were in attendance for the friendly ahead of travelling to Northampton Town for the day's second fixture at Sixfields.
