Tara Bourne joins Blues on loan!
Blues Women are delighted to announce the signing of Tara Bourne on loan.
The midfielder joins the Club on a season-long loan from Barclays Women’s Super League side Manchester United and becomes Darren Carter’s fifth signing of the summer.
The England Under-19s international started her journey with the Red Devils and made her professional debut in their Vitality Women’s FA Cup victory against Burnley in April 2021.
Followers of the Club's social media channels will have also noticed a new theme to the transfer reveal, which sees Birmingham City partner with the NHS and Blood.co.uk to emphasise the importance of blood donation and the defender's signing profiled Beverley Momenabadi who regularly donates blood after a close friend required a life-saving blood transfusion.
After a securing her move to Blues, the 19-year-old is excited to get going with the squad.
“It feels really good. I’ve had a few sessions with the girls, and it is great group. I can’t wait to get started.
“I really wanted to be a team that was pushing for promotion and that was competing, so I’m really excited to be here.”
Bourne spent the first-half of last season at Sheffield United, before making the switch across to Blackburn Rovers for the remainder of the campaign.
She recently travelled out to Czech Republic with England Under-19s for the UEFA Women’s Euros, where she started all three of their group games.
Welcome to Blues, Tara!
