Disabled Supporter Information

10 November 2021

**Birmingham City Football Club welcomes all supporters to St. Andrew's. **

We take pride in our facilities for disabled supporters and are fully committed to providing any requirements a disabled supporter may have. The Club also follows the Health and Safety Regulations guidelines alongside The Equality Act 2010 which legally protects people from discrimination in the workplace and in wider society.

Birmingham City Football Club would encourage disabled supporters to bring a personal assistant when attending matches, in the event of any emergency evacuation arising. All disabled supporters must follow the ground regulations and evacuation contingency plans.

To be entitled to a free carer ticket, all supporters will need to be in receipt of one of the following: • The middle rate care component or the highest rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement or the enhanced daily living component or Personal Independence Payments (PIP) • Severe Disablement Allowance or Attendance Allowance • War Pensioners’ Mobility Allowance or War or Service Disablement Pension for 80% or more disability • Blind or partially sighted registration certificate (BD8 or CVI Certificate) or evidence from an eye specialist, for example an optometrist, that the individual would qualify to be registered as severely sight impaired (blind) or sight impaired (partially sighted)

Supporters who do not have any of the above but feel they do require a carer ticket are advised to contact the ticket office to discuss their personal case further.

This would be needed for both season tickets and match tickets. You will be asked to provide your updated paperwork at the start of each season.

At Birmingham City Football Club we want to make both home and away fixtures for supporters easily accessible. The Club offers disabled supporters a free carer to travel on the coach with them. Tickets for the away fixtures will follow the usual selling arrangements in regards to away priority.

Wheelchair Bays: Birmingham City currently offers 88 wheelchair spaces at St. Andrew’s. 67 spaces are allocated to home supporters and 21 wheelchair bays are allocated to away supporters. They are also subject to the relevant price of the seating category of the area that they choose to sit in.

Birmingham City Football Club provides 6% of its parking places available to disabled supporters. The Club wishes to inform disabled supporters that there are no disabled car parking spaces left available for home supporters in the Kop and Main Stand car parks for the 2017/18 season.

Once a space has been issued to a supporter, that space will be theirs until they inform the Club that they no longer require it or fails to renew by the deadline date. Therefore, the Club will not be re-issuing spaces on a season by season basis. Spaces will only then be allocated if and when they become available to supporters who continue to meet the above criteria.

If a supporter wishes to be placed on the waiting list they should contact Aamir Javaid (aamir.Javaid@bcfc.com) with the relevant paperwork.

Supporters will only be placed on the waiting list if they are season ticket holders and in receipt of both the enhanced daily living component and enhanced mobility component of Personal Independence Payments (PIP) or both the highest rate care component and the highest rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA).

Applicants must ensure they have provided their full name, client reference number and seat details along with an up to date contact number and email address. A short statement on why you require a car parking space and which location is preferred.

The Club will continually monitor supporters who have a space on a seasonal basis to ensure they still meet the criteria to be eligible for a space.

If you do have any queries or concerns in regards to the application process or any questions about disabled car parking for next season, please feel free to contact Aamir Javaid on 0121 772 0101 opt 2 or email aamir.Javaid@bcfc.com.

Accessible stewards will be located in all areas of the ground in order to assist supporters. They will be able to provide assistance and answer queries that you may have. Accessible stewards will be easily identifiable as they will be wearing jackets that will have Accessible Steward printed on the back.

Supporters requiring a guide dog companion will be able to enter the stadium through wide gates which do not have an obstacle such as a turnstile. We recommend that any supporter who is intending to attend a match with a guide dog should make the club aware in advance to the fixture to establish ticketing availability and the stadiums facilities.

If you have any queries or require assistance on a match day, your point of contact will be Simon Hall - our Matchday Disabled Liaison Officer (DLO). Simon will be able to assist with questions, feedback or help put any arrangements in place. He will be present before, during and after the game and will make regular appearances around all areas of the ground. Should you need to locate him, please ask the nearest steward. Please note that Simon is happy to assist both home and away supporters.

Should you require assistance during the week on non-match days, then your point of contact is either the Ticket Office or Aamir Javaid, Ticketing Manager.
