Caolan Boyd-Munce joins Middlesbrough
Blues can confirm that Caolan Boyd-Munce has signed for Middlesbrough.
The Northern Irishman joins the Sky Bet Championship team for an undisclosed fee, bringing the curtain down on over five years in the Second City.
Signing in 2016 after impressing on trial, Boyd-Munce earned a scholarship and was an integral player in the Birmingham City side that reached the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup in 2018. A loan move to Redditch United came later that year before he put pen to paper on his first professional deal the following summer.
This came on the back of an impressive season for the Under-23s, during which the midfielder helped Blues finish runners-up in the Professional Development League Northern Section.
First Team opportunities came in the Carabao Cup, where he made his debut against Portsmouth, and in the Championship, alongside his commitments for Steve Spooner’s development team. And this reached a significant high point when Blues won the PDL National title in May 2021.
Boyd-Munce links up with Chris Wilder's Boro who are currently seventh in the second tier.
Good luck, Caolan!
