Peterborough United game postponed

Peterborough United game postponed

26 December 2021

In addition to today’s scheduled fixture with Fulham (26 Dec), the Club can now confirm that our Sky Bet Championship clash with Peterborough United (29 Dec) at St. Andrew’s has also been postponed.

With a short turnaround time between fixtures, there was insufficient window for players to return from isolation or recover from injury.

Once again, the number of COVID-19 cases within the Men’s First Team group meet the EFL threshold criteria for the non-fulfilment of a fixture.

Given the amount of positive cases within the squad, coupled with injuries sustained to First Team players, the Club does not have a sufficient number of players available.

Blues will now work in consultation with Peterborough United and the EFL to agree on a new date and time for the game. Details of this will be communicated in due course here on, with ticket details to follow.

We regret any inconvenience and disappointment caused to supporters as a result of the postponement but reiterate that our commitment to the health of both players and staff remains a top priority.
