ONEL HERNANDEZ

Midfielder

Biography

Onel Hernandez became Blues' third new recruit of the mid-season transfer window when he signed on loan from Norwich City for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.

The Cuban international checked in to the Second City with two promotions from England's second tier already on his CV, having twice helped the Canaries into the Premier League. His time in the top-flight also saw him become the first of his countrymen to both play and score at that level.

Prior to playing in England, his career had been spent in Germany, the country he emigrated to at the age of six. 11 years later he made his professional debut for Arminia Bielefeld, going onto represent Werder Bremen II, VFL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Braunschweig. The move is his second away from Carrow Road, after spending time with Middlesbrough ahead of his switch to Blues.
